Ryan’s students have been featured in recitals in Carnegie Hall (NYC) and the Kennedy Center (Washington DC). As well as filling many of the Unites States top colleges. Ryan’s students have a 100% distinction rate in ABRSM cello examinations. Ryan’s teaching along with the progress of his students has been covered in many local and national newspapers including the Baltimore Sun.

An accomplished teacher of the cello, Ryan is known for his engaging and creative lessons that focus on core technique and musicality. He is particularly grounded in the French school of cello playing. Nevertheless, in him, students have an extremely versatile teacher who has real professional experience in almost any genre imaginable. He has been an instructor for almost ten years at the International school of music (Washington DC), and has also taught scholarship students at the prestigious Levine School of Music (Washington DC).

Now based in Williamsburg, VA he offers lessons in person and online. Ryan’s students vary in age and expertise, from complete beginners to those pursuing a professional career in music. Ryan’s wife is professional violinist Sophie Genevieve Lowe. Many families take advantage of having lessons with Ryan and Sophie simultaneously.

Ryan has also taught internationally, throughout Europe, the USA and in Asia.
